Haslam’s Pump Track Engagement Report
Sydney Olympic Park Authority is thrilled to share its Community & Stakeholder Engagement Outcomes Report for Haslams Pump Track.
Construction has commenced on this newest addition to Sydney Olympic Park’s evolving action and adventure precinct, which already features a world-class BMX track and Sydney’s first dedicated man-made surfing facility, URBNSURF.
The Haslams Pump Track project is transforming an existing mountain cross track into a brand new outdoor community and adventure space. With a focus on inclusivity, three separate tracks geared towards beginner, intermediate and advanced riders are being constructed by passionate bike enthusiasts and landscape architects Common Ground. The tracks can be explored on bikes, skateboards, adaptive bikes, roller skates, scooters, purpose-built wheelchairs and any other wheeled devices.
Whether you’re a seasoned shredder or parent to a little rider, there’s space for the whole community to enjoy Haslams Pump Track surrounded by parkland, open recreation areas, cafés and more. Situated on beautiful Wangal Country, you might even catch a glimpse of one of 10 microbat species hanging out in the nearby greenery.
Proudly funded by the NSW Government’s Places to Play program, the Haslams Pump Track project increases community access to adventure spaces, and brings together speed demons of all ages and abilities for an exhilarating experience, complemented by the Park’s diverse natural surroundings.
Sydney Olympic Park Authority is committed to listening to its community to ensure the best possible experience and amenity for residents and visitors alike, and the development of a first-rate pump track. Pre-construction, we brought together community organisations, parent groups, residents, riders and government agencies to find out what they wanted most in a pump track. Through a series of workshops, our enthusiastic community told us they wanted to see a functional, safe, accessible, inclusive and green recreational space where communities could gather, play, relax and recharge – and this is exactly what Haslams Pump Track will deliver.
